Animal Crossing Tips interlude
Just got my golden watering can in Animal Crossing Wild World. I think it took 14 days of constantly keeping my town perfect.
It turned out that I needed to visually divide my town into little squares of 16 by 16 spaces with decorative tiles.
Then, I needed to examine each “acre” to ensure that it had at least 10 trees. When that was done, I started buying up all of the flowers in the shop each day and plating them until I had 8 on each “acre”. This was tricky because I accidentally run through them like nobody’s business. I ended up taking Marla’s advice and made little tiled areas on each acre, that way when I was sprinting from place to place, I would be clued in to when I was supposed to slow down or what areas I needed to avoid traipsing about in.
After all the numbers added up, or were “properly balanced” I started getting the message from the post office that everyone enjoyed the town and wished it would last forever.
Then came the mundane task of daily maintenance. I made sure I loaded the game everyday. Every brown flower I watered. Since I’m so picky, I started buying only the flowers I liked from the shop and replaced the ones I disliked one by one. This made my days seem more eventful. I went for all roses. By the time I finished (the shop only carries a few, if any, roses per day), the town had been perfect long enough and I was presented a golden watering can from the post office. Oh happy day.
Making gold roses:
1. Strategically plant at least 2 red roses next to each other with surrounding space to breed. Do this in various spots to increase your chances. Supposedly, everyday, 3 sets of flowers will breed in your town. Red rose pairs spawn more red roses and sometimes black roses.
2. When you’ve got black roses, pick them up and put them anywhere. The next day, they will turn brown (something about the transplanting process wilts them).
3. Water them with the golden watering can. The next day, they will be gold.
The gold are supposed to never need watering. I’ll find this out for myself soon as I’ve just transplanted my gold roses in various places. I’m waiting to see if they withstand it.
Hope you enjoyed this little Animal Crossing tip. I put it up just in the event it may help somebody.
