I can hardly wait to get my own domain to start loading all of my website stuff onto. I hope I stay motivated throughout the whole process so that it turns out as neat looking as I hope it will. We’re having a hell of a time with Marla’s blog. So far we have to stick with the templates they give you to start out with. I tried to figure out how to edit them to our liking but got thoroughly confused when I discovered it was written in a type of coding called PHP. I can’t really mess with it without fucking anything up too badly. I don’t even know what to type in. I’m just going to have to focus on some tutorials until I get the feel for it. I found one kid’s “simple” step by step starter guide and then I have the W3Schools Reference site to fall back on for another less explained perspective. I’m expecting to have to dedicate the good chunk of an entire day to it but it must be done if I’m going to use the blogging forum idea on our sites in a more satisfactory manner.

Also up on the to learn list is my new picture phone. I’m on a family plan with my parents to save money on my cell phone and it recently got upgraded to the picture phone. I got a book with of way over a hundred pages. Took me a day to fully comprehend how to take pictures, store them, get them from email, then send them phone to phone. Now that I have that part down I get to move on to how to connect the memory card to the computer and pull pictures back and forth and download music for rings and tones from my files. I procrastinate pretty badly so that is going to be a task in itself just trying to read through the steps and keep focused while testing each thing out.

On top of all this, one of the books I picked up from the library is on flash movies and graphics. I took one look at the first few pages and I already know I have to put it on the back burner until I clear some of this other education out of the way. Editing the blog pages should come before beautifying and fine tuning them. I just want to do it all at once. I really should go to school for the web design aspect of things just to clear all this crap out of the way. Then, I’m forced to learn everything that I want to about the web again. I used to think it was neat knowing mere html and CSS.

There’s lots of packing to do this stretch of days off. Not that it’s hard, most of it has been put on hold since the deadline wasn’t as near as it is now. Less than 2 weeks and we can start moving in. Closing will be June 27th. Busy, busy, busy. I guess the majority of my crap is going to be clothes and candelabras. The Fetishes of Collinwood, what music to my ears.
In the midst of all that junk I’ll be crocheting my little Gothic tablecloth and knitting my bat tea towel. Almost finished with the towel, but the tablecloth I fear will take a year or two. It kills my hands. Maybe I’ll do some more of it now…
