So, what’s been going on for the past couple weeks has kept me offline away from any real updates. I spent one of my stretches of days off researching new world orders and the 9/11 hoax and that was eye opening. If you want something nice to watch, see http://zeitgeistmovie.com
Then, the following stretch, I took my car in to get it inspected and the horn fixed. It was meant to be a swell day where we’d walk to the bookstores and look around and just stroll around while the van was in the Triple A shop. It was swell and we got to look at quite a bit.
Then, I got my first phone call. The diagnostic on the horn would cost me 89.00 and the labor and parts totalled with that would take me near $300. Alright, whatever. I needed it done for inspection. The part must have come in and been replaced when I got my next phone call. They found that my power steering belt was weak and ragged so I would need another. I think we’re up to 357 now but it’s okay and one’s available in the shop.
Blah, blah, blah, we run to get a sandwich because we’re getting hungry. We get done and start strolling back to the shop and I give them a call. The tension arm that holds the belt shattered and now needs replaced. We went in and they showed me what had happened and proceeded to call all places within the area that they could. The soonest someone could get them the part I needed was the following morning. Just great, and more money added to my bill.
Good thing the water heater turned out to cost over $800 and I decided to continue going without one or I wouldn’t be able to afford this car thing. Most of it went on charge anyway.
I finally got the car back the next day near 1pm. They needed to order a different belt that fit the new tension arm and alternator properly. The car is inspected and I’m so done with it. It had better last for quite some time without a problem after this.
Maybe I’ll write a more upbeat post later on but, for now, this is as good as it gets. My eyes are weary.

Not too much of an update but I figured I’d write about my current plans for my life.
We had a United Way meeting last night at work. They’re an organization that takes donations to help fund many local and nationwide agencies that provide all sorts of human services. Not much came of this. I made my donation pledges like I make sure I do every year but the speakers weren’t from agencies I needed help from.
I had been waiting for this for a while so that I could get my hands on pamphlets with info on school funding. They gave these things out last year but I didn’t feel ready for dealing with the prospect of school fully. I could kick myself for that because the info was handed to me at work and it got lost in the house somewhere.
But the main thing is I’ve decided I need to get into school for something. I’ve thought about it a lot the past year and I think Graphic Arts is the best idea. I sure wouldn’t mind learning the latest programs and photoshops needed and I could end up applying it to web design and advertising (which actually links up with the things I always try to help Marla with here and there). And maybe as a side I could throw in Internet marketing. We’ve read tips from others online that seem to have learned a lot from the marketing courses.
Those two subjects combined could gear me up to learning to better design websites and advertise for my own business and all of Marla’s Misadventures. Now, the first step is the phone call to be connected to another agency which can inform me and make too many appointments.

Just finished touching up the kitchen cabinets for the 5th, 6th, or is it the 7th time…
I’m never using Dutch Boy paint again. It was half the price of the brand Kilz. We got a small pint like container of light gray (in Kilz) for an alternate color tone to a large gallon or so of dark gray (in Dutch Boy) to cover overtop of our whiter than white cabinets. We chose not to strip the previous paint off before we started since it would be twice the money and work and both brands of paint claimed to go on in one coat.
Dutch Boy was mistaken. But we’re totally satisfied with Kilz. That’s what the rest of the kitchen will be done in.
It was fun until the touch ups happened to last much more than two weeks (and counting). Don’t use Dutch Boy if you don’t want to be this irritated.

I haven’t updated in quite some time. Not because things haven’t been going on but because we’ve been pretty busy.
My shift has switched to a second shift for 2 months and that is murder. With the hurricanes, we’ve been getting what seems like three times the phone calls. That will die down. But I’m not looking forward to each week of days off.
We still have a house guest on a temporary stay with us until they can get on their feet somewhere so we never truly have much alone time. When I was on third shift we used to be alone late nights almost every night and I got spoiled by it. I almost felt like we finally lived by ourselves like we’ve always strived for. But now the realization hit that I won’t feel alone for another two months. Or will it turn into two more years? It really wears on you after it stops feeling so temporary.
But, on a happy note, we have painted the cabinets up pretty well, pics will come soon, they may already be over at Marla’s site. We’ve got some of our plywood nailed down in the attic to store our extra stuff in our bedroom and kitchen. More details later on that…

Today I shaved off all of the gruesome growth hanging off my face and it’s underside. This ends up being a once a month thing anymore due to unmotivation. I hate shaving. And I hate, and I hate, and I hate elevator music. It’’s extremely hard to force yourself to do something you don’t enjoy. Sometimes I’m severely tempted to lasciviously pour Nair all over the place.
I”ll fix them!!!
But when I do finally get around to shaving, it’s usually on Shaven Yak Day, and it takes me almost an hour to finish it up. Then, I gather up all my shavings, set them aside in a bowl and go to bed, eagerly awaiting the moment I’ll get to sneak a peak at the Shaven Yak when he comes to visit. Oh, Joy!!!
But, now that I’ve got that outta the way, was there something you’ve got to say to me? Everytime I shave, I get horrid razor burn, especially on my neck. With this new house, I bought Marla an aloe plant when she saw one at Lowe’s and got excited. I decided to start using it on my face to see what happened. So far, both times that I”ve done it, it’’s ***relieved my burn and itch*** within 10 minutes. It slightly comes back after a few hours but not near the normal intensity. And it’’s a natural way to do it without alcoholic crap or crack rocks you have to heat on your tongue. Thats right, natural aloe, for your face and everybody else’’s.

I sprayed the trees for the 2nd time. But I forgot to refrigerate the onion concoction that I created the other night. I opened up the old vinegar jug and the cap went soaring across the kitchen beheading everything in sight, cluing me in that the mixture was not sitting well.
I used it anyway as I didn’t feel like spending another half hour preparing a fresh batch. This time I put it in the refrigerator. I’ll make some more with actual garlic cloves this set of days off. I was planning on researching more natural pest deterrant herbs to mix in but your mom was blown out of the water when she took over the computer.
Pam left me a message last night. I really miss her. She’s starting a new job soon and has been through a few more not so entertaining times. I really want to go out and visit her again. I think it’s been well over a year this time. She was supposed to visit once before but the flights were too overbooked to allow standbys to get on. I hate guest passes.
Now, with the state of the airline industries flight reductions everywhere the flights are more full than ever, making it hard to let me on so it’s hard to judge when a good time is to go out. I’ve gotta shift my time around at work in order to stay more than one day there.
And now I’ve gotta work it in around house projects cause everything seems to be going wrong. First the fridge, then the water heater, the computer twice, and in the fall I can predict it will be the furnace. After that, your guess is as good as mine.
On a hobby note, I haven’t been knitting or crocheting much, the house business killed that for weeks. I’ll pick my current projects back up, I just haven’t been motivated for that sort of thing.
I’m thinking of starting a graphic novel. I kind of always wanted to do one in the back of my mind. Not sure which kind of story or art would carry me fully through it but I’ll just have to try a few things out and see what sticks. I happened on a book in the library the other week that explains some of the processes when doing it all yourself. We’ll see if that pathway holds inspiration for me.

Our computer is down yet again. This time it is a virus that has hijacked everything. Marla went to access a video of a television show and it promoted her in a normal popup that Adobe Flash needed an update in order for her to continue. Without knowing better, as our last hard drive had crashed weeks ago and things needed redownloaded anyway, she went ahead and clicked OK. The screen flashed red and the clock struck Virus Alert. The browsers automatically connect to grab more spyware controllers and all file names modified to say virus at the end of them. After an hour it seemed to take over the cable internet ports and stole our IP so the browser won’t load anything at all for us. What fun. Another computer bill if we want the computer back up.
I’m seriously considering getting a laptop. I can pretend I’m independent in the bedroom even longer without surfacing. It would be wonderful and convenient. Then, in the future we could get the big computer fixed (or maybe all at once depending on my Dell credit and if they have a current special). We’ll see though. I hate having to spend money but it’s lousy losing all the information and tutorials available through accessing the internet at will as it’’s necessary.
A friend of mine that I shall refer to as Sergeant Red got back in contact with me after a couple of years of us not being in touch. It was really neat to hear about all that she had been up to. Re-enlisted in the army, she is currently in Iraq taking over the world. She got a vacation for a week or so that was spent with the spirits in Hawaii. She was always very in touch with nature and her surroundings so I bet that was wonderful. She’s also been to Ireland several times in the past year or two. That must be nice. I’ve gotta have some family over there somewhere. Alright, where are you? I’m coming over! Now, I’ve composed an email back to her in notepad with no way to send it to her until I can get to a library with the disk.
I guess there’s no real reason for telling anyone all this. It’s just very frustrating to be able to type these things up but not be able to send them once they’re finished. I guess once I get to the library Monday or Tuesday, I’ll check out Dell for any specials and see if it’s worth it or not to go ahead with a laptop. I’ve got two days to weigh it out and think about it.
